ARES System Manual: path Filesystem

The _path program provides an abstracted, networkable representation of the files in local storage. This allows the storage daemon to provide a uniform interface for accessing files from heterogeneous sources. See sources for more information.

path filesystem syntax:
path help: displays a summary of options
    path scan: check for changes
path label <new label>: change volume label
path connect <mode> <system> <handle>: offer connection as storage to remote host <system> via token <handle>
    path debug: get debug information
path desc: get description of inventory item (even non-files)
path token <UUID>: add a one-time connection token (for use with connecting)
path list: list all files in local storage

Prior to 0.5.0, the _fs script managed all file access functions, both local and remote. From 0.5.0 to 0.5.5, _fs included the PHASE file system driver. This was moved into _phase in ARES 0.5.6, and replaced with the PATH filesystem using the script name _path in ARES 0.5.7.
